It’s something that’s very new for me. I’ve always wrote just journals and stuff, but it was never an actual thing that I wanted to do. At the beginning of this year, I woke up one morning and I was like, “I want to write a book of poetry because I have all these thoughts and feelings and things inside me, I want to get them out.” And for me, writing was just a way to just understand my own emotions and understand the world around me and how I think and how I feel and when I see things on paper it’s like, “Oh they make sense.”

I shared them with my friends and family and agents, and people connected to them on a really deep level, so I decided to publish a book. It’s the most personal thing I’ve ever done and I’m very, very proud of it. It’s my catharsis, my way to just get it all out there and make sense of it. I’m bringing it out in the open like, “This is how it really is. This is the raw, brutal emotion that I am feeling and I know you feel it too.”

Here is an excerpt of Julia’s poetry – the first ever released!

It’s breathing down my neck

Darkness on the daunting shore is breathing down my neck

Shallow breaths create a hushed echo across the water

Reach the shore and breath no more; lips utter no hope

There’s a chill in the air tonight, I feel it in my soul

It’s cold and weak like a dead mans hand laid on mine

Clouds eclipse a full conscious, brawling in the sky

And shadows cast a glimpse of no one there, there’s no one here

But I remember seeing him look at me like this

Like when he looks at me I have been looked at

And when he lays me down I will lay there forever

I rest there, trying to remember how to breathe

And I take the dead mans hand in mine and hold it close to my heart

I will not stir in the bed I have made for you and I

The sky will turn its crimson pinks and orange and scorch the land

A new day has turned and I am still the same, I still feel without

Winds rustle the leaves that command presence and obedience

So I stand submissive to the path that has been chosen

Bowing and cursing them under my breath

It’s foul, but not as merciless as the rotting man in my hand…

Julia Voth: Erin And America

A lot of people assume that because there are cat fights in the movie that we really don’t like each other. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. After all the traveling we’ve done, we’ve made this really great friendship and we love each other like sisters and support each other. We go to each other’s film premiers and every time someone gets a new article in a magazine we go out and buy it.

My love scene with America is very quick, but my one with Erin is a lot more intense. We had a dialogue before and Erin said, “You know what would really suck is if people watch this and thought it was just okay.” And I went, “Oh, that can’t happen!” So nothing was off limits. I’m like…

“Can I grab you here?”

“Yeah, can I grab your boob?”

“Sure.”

“Can I use tongue?”

“Yeah.”

I think it comes down to being comfortable with a person, knowing what to expect. And you’re fueled by your character. My character Trixie needed this, she desired this, this was a moment when she needed nothing more but this.

It was in Japan when I was modeling there. It was basically just an audition where tons and tons of girls went on and they chose me to the be the face of her, which was really awesome and quite flattering because she’s like this iconic figure and now that I’ve started acting and I’ve become more of a public figure myself, people are putting two and two together and saying, “Wait, she’s actually a real person.” And to have that feedback and have people still approach me like, “You’re Jill Valentine.” It’s so flattering. It’s so awesome. It will live on in the video game world forever.

Julia Voth: Death Threats And Car Accidents

I was hit by a car the first day of grade four. I was walking to my aunt’s house and the sun was setting earlier because it was fall, and a guy who lived in town, a family friend – he was going too fast and he hit me at like 70. I did a somersault over the top of his car, I hit the pavement, fractured my jaw, and gave myself neck and back problems. I still have a little scar to prove it. And then, I don’t remember this, but what spectators said is when I hit the pavement I stood up and I walked to a ditch and collapsed. I guess it was just the instinct that being on the road wasn’t a safe place. My body just did that and I don’t remember. My family didn’t press charges of course. It wasn’t intentional at all – he felt so bad.

I had friends in Hish School, not too many though. I was away a lot. I’d go to places like Tokyo, Paris, NYC, LA. Not only was I travelling, but I was working as a professional model. I think it was a little hard for some people to understand. They thought I would be stuck up or conceited, but I wasn’t. My family would never allow it! There was one girl, we were friends in elementary school, and as we grew up I started modeling and traveling and we sort of drifted apart. It got kind of nasty. She wasn’t very nice to me at all. She kind of threatened to kill me. Not kind of, she did actually. The principal was called, my mother got involved. The whole school found out. I think the embarrassment of doing something like that was punishment enough.

Julia Voth: Bitch Slap

When I read the name, Bitch Slap, I called my agent and said, “I don’t do soft porn.” And he’s like, “Read it. You don’t have to like it.” And then I read the first 20 pages and I was hooked. I called him back and said, “I need to read for Trixie. I need to be Trixie. So do whatever you’ve got to do. Pull your strings, get me in that room to read.” And he did and I guess here I am. This is my first acting job ever.

Trixie is a down on her luck stripper with a heart of gold, and she wears a little gold dress to match. She is the bait of the whole operation. Her body is her weapon. She can get anything she wants from a man or a woman with nothing more than a wink and a well-timed bend over.

I think a lot of women in the world today have that power and use it. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. You shouldn’t abuse it, but I think using what you’ve got to get what you want or need, I think it shows confidence.
