That role was so much fun to do because it’s totally not me at all; the complete polar opposite of me now and me at 14. I did actually live on the Upper West Side for a little while, but it isn’t what it used to be. It’s very different now. Nobody wants to live on the Upper East Side anymore. Everybody is all about Soho and the East Village and the West Village.

That was great because I’ve known Leighton Meester since I was 15. We did a movie together, so it was like hanging out with family. I was like, “I’m coming!” She was like, “Ahhh!” And we ended up reconnecting and getting along amazingly. She helped me fit right in and spent a lot of time with her. We still talk to this day. She’s wonderful – one of my homies.

I’m so proud of her. She’s following her dreams. She’s always wanted to make music and now she’s doing it, she’s singing. It wasn’t easy. She was performing at American Apparel and all this stuff, and now she’s really doing it. I heard her song on the radio and I called her and was like “Congratulations.” She’s been amazing. She’s been more than generous with me and she’s totally helped me out with a lot of situations.
