I think the best thing to do is to surround yourself with positive people; people that have a good energy and want to live life and smile. When you spend so much time around people that aren’t lifting you up or making you feel like these things are possible, it’s a waste of everyone’s time. It’s not a good feeling. Surround yourself with people that you have fun with, you can go on adventures with, you can hang out with. Not just go out to a nightclub, but go to the beach. Go on a hike in Malibu.

The nights that I don’t want to go out and I end up going somewhere cool, I end up meeting the coolest person in the world. I think it happens when you least expect it. I think meeting somebody you like will happen when you’re totally not looking for it. I think when you’re focused on yourself and your career is when the most amazing person comes along.

Deal breakers? A guy that takes longer to get ready than me. I think someone that’s very vain and takes life too seriously is a deal breaker for me. I think you need to just have fun with it. It’s all about the ride. My mom always says, “It’s not about getting there; it’s about how you get there.”

Also, I would never date another actor. I’ve tried it. It never ends up well. But dating a producer, or a photographer, or DP, that’s cool, because they get the industry, but they’re not competing with you.
