Maiara Walsh: Brain Plasticity
I love learning about the brain. Anything to do with neuroscience or brain plasticity. I read a great book called, “The Brain That Changes Itself” by Norman Doige I believe. And it’s all about brain plasticity, which is basically your brain’s ability to change and you know, it’s so fascinating because we form all these addictions whether it’s to people, whether it’s to love, whether it’s to coffee.
And the more you get set in these patterns, the harder they are to break. But you can always break them and you can always got in a different direction. It doesn’t matter how old you are. It might take you a little bit longer, but you can always change, which I think is fantastic.
And I like to read, I love Psychology, I love Biology. So I do want to go back to school at some point and take all these classes. If I could have it my way I could have a private tutor who would just teach me everything I want to know.

Alison Goodman is a Writer, Casting Director and pop culture junkie based in New York. She has worked for the CW, ABC Family and the WB. A self-proclaimed TV fanatic, there isn’t a Bravo marathon she hasn’t vegged out to, she still mourns the loss of “Friday Night Lights,” and can’t go to sleep on Thursday night if she hasn’t watched “The Vampire Diaries.”

Maiara, i love learning about the brain as well. Recently I read “Brain Rules”. It’s great…fun examples and the author backs everything with serious research!
