I’m obsessed with the show, and not just because I’m on it. I’d really be watching the show. I play Bonnie Bennett who is a psychic. She’s the best friend of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) on the show. Bonnie is very foreboding, but she’s also a very sweet, loyal, down to earth girl, sort of hippie-esque. She’s finding out that she might possibly be a witch, that she might have powers, so right now she’s really finding out about who she is. She’s a really strong character and I love playing her.

She’s very different than I am in her dedication to her friends. I wish that I had so much of that when I was growing up because I’ve never been to high school, so I didn’t have the opportunity to meet friends. Now that I’ve met Nina, I have that exact same love and dedication and having someone’s back in real life as I do in the show. But I only met Nina this past year. It’s like it’s part of me that I always kind of wished I could have been able to have in my life and I’m getting able to relive what I missed out.

You spend your whole life in Hollywood, the whole industry can be so fake and phony and you don’t know who’s got your back and who thinks you’re the competition and you don’t really go into Hollywood to make friends.  So the fact that we came out as a cast in real life as really great friends and in the show we’re great friends, it’s spectacular for me. It’s great.
