Gabrielle Dennis: The Underground With Damon Wayans

I had already had a love for the Wayans family. I think they’re this national icon, this poster child for family of comedians and comics.

And to be able to work with Damon, he’s hilarious and he’s fun. But he’s so dedicated and focused too, so it was kind of interesting to see that side of him.  And he’s very family oriented – a couple of his family members worked in different aspects of the show.

He really embraced us and protected us and looked out for us.  And he allowed us to just have all kinds of freedom to create and I think what was really fun. There was a lot of really, really great stuff.
