Cassie Scerbo: Nothing’s Impossible

It’s my favorite quote, Nothing’s Impossible. I believe that with faith and strength and positivity we can do anything our heart desires. I’ve always said that I want to become an actress and someone that’s well known so that I can give back and help people, so I came up with this non-profit called Nothing’s Impossible.

My first project that I’m going to be starting now that I’m done shooting is I want to help out gymnasts. I’ve met with a lot of different gym owners and talked to a lot of non-profit gyms and I want to help out with either a gym that’s been broken down and needs help – whether it’s painting the walls, getting new equipment for the girls so they stay safe, or just helping gymnasts achieve their dreams. I figured I’d start with that because playing Lauren and being a part of this whole gymnastics world on the show I realize how hard these girls work and the passion they have for what they do.

I’m hoping to get together a fundraiser and start raising money and get this whole project started. But I’m really, really excited about it. I hope the longer I’m an actress, which hopefully is a long time and the longer I’m doing what I’m doing, the more people I meet, I get to just help out many different causes and many different people and whatever I run into at the moment, I just want to be able to help out.

Cassie Scerbo: A More Mature Cassie

I don’t really have a debut album coming out any time soon. I did say that I do want to work on an album, but the songs that are out right now, those two songs that a lot of people are getting confused, they’re actually songs that I recorded when I was a young girl, when I was about 15 or 16. I love those songs, they’re very young. I love them and but right now what I’m working on is new songs.

I was working with a producer named Bo. He works with a lot of celebrities out there and he’s really a great up and coming producer. I’m working on finding more of myself now as opposed to what I was when I was 16. I’m now 20, so I’m kind of wanting to sing a little bit more mature, a little bit more from my heart, instead of worrying so much it sounding so poppy and young. I think it’s more about what I’m feeling at the moment and what’s going on in my life.

I’m also going to be working on a movie musical, a short film. Teddy Geiger is producing the music, which I’m really excited about because I am a fan of Teddy. We’re going to begin production at the end of this month. Then I go back to shooting the show.

I don’t want my fans to take me the wrong way and think I’m trying to be an actor turned singer or anything. But I am working on music and I am very excited for when it does come out for everybody to hear a new sound, a more mature Cassie.

Cassie Scerbo: Pretty Little Liar Lover

I’m not going to lie – my current obsession is Pretty Little Liars, on my own network. This isn’t like a plug, I am completely obsessed. I love their show. I always watch Make It or Break It every week and I love our show and I think it has something to offer for everybody. But then I watch Make It or Break It and Pretty Little Liars every Tuesday night. I truly love it. I think it’s a great show.

It’s really cool because my co-star from Bring It On is in the show. It’s really funny because you never know where you’re going to end up in life. It’s so funny we end up on the same network after doing the movie together. But I really like it.

Cassie Scerbo: Positive Person

How do I stay so positive? I have little quotes or phrases from the Bible and things that just make me feel better when I’m down. I’ve always kind of been an up, cheerful, bubbly person. I feel like we create our own life and you have control of your own life and you can be happy. That’s how I’ve always looked at it.

I don’t put myself in situations to make myself unhappy. I try to surround myself with good people and good friends and I think it has a lot to do with my upbringing. I was raised in a very respectful, fun and caring family that has been there for me throughout my entire journey and will continue to always be there. My mom is here right now visiting and staying with me and that has a lot to do with it because my family is my rock and my foundation and they have taught me very well.

Cassie Scerbo: Old School Italian Family

I was in high school for the beginning of 9^th grade and then I was homeschooled. I like to say I got the best of both worlds because my parents wanted me to be able to experience normal childhood memories and experiences and to be able to go to homecoming games and the dances, yet I was able to come out here and live my dreams.

We come from Long Island, New York and my mom’s side is Sicilian and and my dad’s sad is Calabrese. Everybody has Christmas lights and you still go pumpkin picking at Halloween and make jack-o-lanterns and church,and every Sunday dinner my dad makes sure that we’re always at the dinner table every night, like seven, eight o’clock, whatever the time is. We can’t miss. We’re never not together for dinner, so it’s a really big deal in my family.

Every Sunday is meatballs and pasta and a feast for the army that my mother cooks up. We’re loud, we’re crazy, we’re very close knit, very traditional. My family had the biggest part in who I am today, just keeping me grounded and teaching me to respect myself and have morals, because some girls lost that out here in Hollyweird.

Cassie Scerbo: Ayla, Josie and Chelsea

Ayla is the most unique out of all of us in the sense of she does very different things. She’s a certified cake baker, she works on productions using the camera,s and she also finds time to knit and all these interesting things. We’re out in the field shooting one day, and I’m saying, “Oh my God, I’m so freaked out. What if I get bit by a snake?” And she’s like, “Oh, I know how to suck the venom out.” She’s has all these really unique qualities about her that are so special. She wears vintage clothing and she’s just very eccentric and a really great person with a great heart.

Josie is very family oriented like I am. We both come from big families and we reside right now in Florida, or our families do, although we live in L.A. And she has the big Cuban family, I have the big Italian family,and I seem to find them to be kind of similar in a way. And it’s kind of funny because we can relate on that level. We’re always talking about our silly moms who are so protective and cute. That’s that little bond that we have.

And then there is Chelsea. I’ve been really, really close with her, and close with her family, not just her. I’ve gotten to meet her mom, her sister, her dad, we actually spent Thanksgiving together. She’s almost like a sister to me. All the girls are like sisters, but Chelsea’s kind of like a big sister to me. I’ve always found it easy to go to her for advice about boys, what to wear, or what not.

Cassie Scerbo: Make It Or Break It

Make It or Break It is about four Olympic hopefuls, and at the end of the day, there are only three medals. There is a lot of competition, a lot of betrayal, a lot of relationships that form. It’s about how they balance a normal life while having to perform and be these super humans basically when they get on the mat.

You don’t really have much time to be normal teenage girls and sometimes they act out or get depressed. But at the end of the day,when they step on to the mat they become one and they unite and they form this team, this alliance on the mat that can’t be stopped. I think that’s such a beautiful thing and it’s so unique and different because we have this trendy, fun, flirty side, with the boys, the gossip, the cute clothes, the prom dresses and what not, but on the other hand we have the whole competitive world of gymnastics. We constantly are pushing through battles and challenges and keeping on our sport and keeping our eye on the prize and this passion.

I also find it really cool personally to be portraying a gymnast because these girls are just so strong and elegant, and just beautiful people to portray. They’re not just prissy little girls walking around high school in skinny jeans and pumps. They have a passion and they’re athletic and they’re fighters and I think it’s a really great show.

Favorite Charity: Mine that’s in the process of being put together! It’s called “Nothing’s Impossible!” It’s a non-profit, actually. And I plan to do anything and everything with it. As my career enhances I can’t wait to see what projects will arise. The most important thing to me is giving back, for all I’ve been blessed with. Honestly.

Favorite Word: I have a few..God, family…and Shoes!!! Those 3 excite me! :)

Favorite Designer: Hmmm, Dior, Gucci, Loubitons (for shoes), YSL..etc

Will Kick Your Butt In: Boxing! Someone actually put up a video on youtube of me training. I wish I could’ve competed, but my mom was like “Are you crazy?! You’re an actress..you can’t randomly come into work with a broken nose or black eye!” And just in general she didn’t want me to get hurt..but that’s parents, right? But I would’ve LOVED to compete!

Unique Talent: I pick things up oddly quick. For example, when I was shooting Bring it on as the role of Brooke, I learned a cheerleading trick called “the rewind” that’s atleast what they called it..where you’re thrown in the air into a back flip and then you have to land with one foot on your single base’s hand. I learned that in 8 tries, apparently it takes most people 8 years? I did all my own stunts on the film, it was an amazing feeling!

Guilty Pleasure: Pizza!! And binge shopping at Urban outfitters <3

Favorite Vice: My mom’s meatballs and shopping at Urban outfitters! (I get way too carried away in that store, and somehow I ALWAYS pick the most expensive things, even if it’s a cut up shirt, or only 3 items, or whatever..ahh! So bad)

Tattoo: Yes ;)…I LOVE artsy tats, and petite scirpture. I have 3. One is a heart but if you look closely, it says God..’The heart of God” It’s where all goodness exists. I also have my grandma’s name “Mama Millie”, on my forearm, she passed away when I was young, and has always been my guardian angel. I also have one that says “eternita” which means Eternity in Italian. It represents staying one with God, our loved ones, and our selves for eternity.

Favorite Shoe: My classic black loubiton pumps. I also LOVE boots ;)..messy, worn-out, ankle-cowboy boots are my obsession at the moment.

Favorite Day Outfit: Romper and cowboy boots, or a cool pair of ripped jeans shorts, a classy/cute top and of course, my cowboy boots!

Favorite Night Outfit: High-waisted pants or mini skirts and tucked in shirts with pumps and a jean jacket! Anything funky, classy with a touch of sex appeal!

Favorite Vacation Place: Europe! Been to Italy and France which were indescribable experiences, especially Italy becuase that’s where my family is all from. But I’m dying to go to Greece!!!

Favorite Male Feature: Eyes, confidence, ripped up bod ;)

Favorite Guy Gift To Her: A ring that someone special gave me ;)..not engagement! I’m only 20! Lol but a gorgeous diamond ring <3

From an old school Italian family on Long Island, Cassie was a member of the group Slumber Party Girls before landing her first film role in Bring it On: In It To Win It. She currently stars as gymnast Lauren Tanner on ABC Family’s Make It Or Break It, whose fourth season ends this week.

A triple threat as an actress, singer, and dancer, Cassie still finds time in her busy schedule to give back through her non-profit organization Nothing’s Impossible. This Girl2Watch has a big life and an even bigger heart.
