DJ Diamond Kuts: Advice for DJs
I’m lucky that I had great teachers. But for people that are starting, the best thing to do is to know your background, know the background of music, learn the techniques of DJing.
A lot of people say they want to DJ, but they really don’t know the techniques. They don’t know how to make records go together. You’ve got to learn how to rock a party and keep the interest of a crowd.
I would say keep the interest of a crowd, that’s one; knowing the history of the music and learning the techniques would be two and three. Those are probably the top three things to learn.
