Dawn Olivieri: Tattoos All Over Her Body
I don’t care if it took three hours to put these things on. I love them. I keep them on as long as they’ll last. It takes about two hours, give or take. Sometimes they like to put them on the day before and if we need to replace a piece here, a piece there, they’ll do that the day of.
There was a tattoo artist that was brought in specifically to create the artwork. He came and he did a wax template of my arm with wax paper. He traced all of the spaces that he wanted to put the tattoos in, and then he went home and he created all these tattoos. Then they put them into a computer program and print them out. Then they spray the tattoo with adhesives so they can apply it onto me.
Then they spray another layer of this body adhesive called Green Marble. It’s the stickiest, nastiest stuff you ever had to put on yourself. They have two layers of that and then this powder goes on it. After that, this special lotion, and then we’re good to go.
