Last fall, we shot this TV movie that’s going to launch season ten. It’s called The Heat is On, and it’s a two-hour movie event. It takes Holly J. to New York with her boyfriend, Declan, and her best friend, Jane, and Declan’s sister, Fiona. When she gets to New York, she gets the chance to live her dream for a summer. She’s got the perfect guy, and he’s got a lot of money, so she’s staying in a really nice penthouse. Then she’s got this internship at an MTV-sort of studio thing.

Jumping from the movie into season ten, Holly J. comes back, and it’s a rude awakening that her family hasn’t got a lot of money. They’re going through some tough financial problems. Having lived this lavish summer and coming back and having to really get back into work mode, and she has to move, and all that kind of stuff’s happening. On her career side of things, she was formerly the school president, and now Sav is giving her a run for her money in that election. Things aren’t working out the way she planned.  She just has to reevaluate where she’s going.

I’m completely disorganized, late frequently, and much more laid back than Holly J. But just getting to play the mean character, it’s really nice to play someone who’s not like yourself .
