Audra Griffis: AnnaLynne McCord

She’s great. I did an episode of 90210 in July and I met her then, and she was so sweet and so nice. Once we got on set, I had few scenes with her and both times she was just so supportive and so amazing.

I remember I forgot my line and I was so mortified because I have a scene with her. How cool is that? She’s said,“I don’t even know my lines. Don’t even worry about it. You’re completely fine.” And then we kind of bonded over the fact she’s from Atlanta and I’m from Ohio. So the whole east coast mentality as opposed to the west coast. She was so sweet. It was really a pleasure and an honor to work with her.

Did she give me advice? Yeah, she just said, “I hope you stay grounded and you seem like a great person. Just keep your head on straight.”

Audra Griffis: Dancing Queen

I danced my whole life. I started when I was three and then I got into competition dancing. And then that’s where I got the job touring with the Dance Convention. did that for three years where I got the majority of my training. And then I had a dance agent out here and I just started auditioning.

But I didn’t have longevity in dance. I knew I didn’t want to be a choreographer and that I didn’t want to wake up at 4:30 and be like, “Okay, what do I do now?” That’s when I started to transition into acting.

I think dance has really helped me with acting as far as like stage presence and the confidence and being able to carry on conversations with people, so I’m not just like a deer in the headlights.

Dancing tips? I would say to let’s see, to be your own person, to never give up. There is going to be a hundred no’s, you will get that one yes and don’t let anyone else tell you how you dress, how you dance, how you look is wrong, because there will be that one job for you.

Audra Griffis: Big Move To LA

Thinking back on it now, I don’t know how I did it. I graduated high school and I stayed home a year. And then my mom and I drove out here together. I knew it’s always what I wanted to do. I didn’t see myself going to school. I actually moved out here with my best friend from Ohio. So that definitely made it a lot easier, but I moved out here and I just started auditioning. And if I had to make a move like that again today at 24, I don’t think I could.

My parents are 110% supportive. I wouldn’t be where I am and who I am today without their support. They have been amazing through this whole process.

Audra Griffis: Special Brother

I think a moment that shaped me into the person I am today is I have a brother who has a developmental delay. I think growing up with a younger sibling that needs extra help made me more aware of other’s needs and I think I carried that into my adult life.

I think having to be extra cautious of people’s feelings and how you treat people are small little things that I pick up on because of him.

Dial Star is about a girl in her early 20s – her name is Celia and she works as a barista at a coffee shop. She’s an aspiring actress. She’s been in L.A. for a year and she still hasn’t got her lucky break yet.

She’s out one night with her friend Natalie, she runs into AnnaLynne McCord, who drops her phone. Celia picks it up and has all these opportunities – getting invited to parties, premiers, charity events, and she’s trying to give her phone back, but the situations always cross each other.

While all this is happening, she ends up running into the guy that she has had a crush on for the past year that comes into the coffee shop, who only starts to notice her once she is showing up to these events and parties. So she’s kind of confused on what she should do. Should she give back the phone and let Anna Lynn hold some kind of dignity, or should she keep going? This is so great that Austin’s noticing her, she’s getting into these parties, so she’s kind of faced with that I don’t know what to do. It’s kind of the best of both worlds kind of thing.

And she ends up getting an audition for Thelma and Louise through AnnaLynne and at the end she ends up booking it and finding out that AnnaLynne is her counterpart.

AUDRA: Celia has her own facebook and her own Twitter. They update the fans with pictures of things that I’ve done or pictures of Austin and I on dates, or now they’re updating with how my rehearsals for Thelma and Louise are going. It’s really cool to see people so interested in it and to see them commenting on the statuses or commenting on what their favorite moment was of the web series.

It’s kind of surreal to me. It’s really cool that they’ve put this much work into it and are still writing on her Twitter and writing on her facebook, updating the fans on what Celia is doing.

“Thinking back on it now, I don’t know how I did it,” says Audra Griffis of her move to Los Angeles from Ohio, but we’re glad she made the trip. A dancer from a young age, Audra performed in Spring Breakdown and toured with Vanessa Hudgens before making the transition to acting and her first feature film role in High School Musical 3. She recently landed her first lead role in Dial Star, a web series that just finished it’s first season on NBC.com. Audra plays Celia Bishop, a 20-something small-town girl whose dreams of fame bring her to Los Angeles. This Girl2Watch’s art imitates her life.
