Bosilika An: You Don’t Say…

Bosilika’s favorite song of all time is Katy Perry’s Firework. “I just love it, when you turn it on, or you run to it, it’s just uplifting and you like want to embody what her song represents.

Growing up in L.A. Bosilika never had the urge to be in the entertainment business. “I think I got to see from an early age how fame is a double edge,” she explains. “My mom is the kind of parent that’s like when you learn to love something shoot for the stars and if you make a career out of it then that’s fantastic, but if you don’t then just try again. I’ve been lucky to always grow up with that mentality, so reaching super stardom has never been a priority of mine.”

Bosilika An: The 5 Year Plan

Bosilika is a Girl with a plan. With her high school graduation right around the corner she is more than ready for what comes next. “I’ve already set up a foundation with some of the younger girls to start leading their own chapters of The BASH to make sure that it lasts even when I’m in college,” she says proudly. “I think it’s really important to leave for college to find yourself and find out what else you don’t know about yourself.”

Planning to double major in International Relations and International Business, she is excited for the future. “We’ll see what that turns into, but hopefully I will end up with a career in sustainable development of hotels and islands. I’ve got a five year plan, it’s literally taped on my wall,” she admits with a giggle. “I’ve always had a five year plan, like if you walk into my room right now, above my bed there’s a huge poster board of giant clouds and a roadmap that I wake up to every morning and I remind myself of what my next goal is and where I want to go that I haven’t already been.”

Bosilika An: The Family Business

Bosilika’s family owns and operates various restaurants based in California including Crustacean, home of the famous An Family garlic noodles. “I have 5 brothers and sisters, I’m the second youngest,” she tells me. “It’s nice to have a lot of older siblings who can give me advice and guidance. I think growing up in L.A. there’s a lot of traps that you can fall into early and knowing that all of my siblings have overcome those obstacles, they had really great advice to make sure that I avoided them.”

The restaurants are a true family business as Bosilika’s entire family plays a part in its success. “Everyone works for the family but has their own little side ventures which makes it fun and interesting,” she admits. “We end up discovering that a lot of what we do outside of the family business can tie back into it.” Bosilika works at the restaurant on the weekends as a hostess. “I wanted to understand what it would take to run a restaurant,” she explains. “I’ve actually worked in every post except being a bartender because I legally can’t do that yet. I don’t think anyone would want a drink by someone who couldn’t taste it. But that would be interesting,” she laughs.
