Amber Stevens: Bright Future
I’ve kind of just grown up doing this show. It was pretty quickly after high school, like a year, that I started the show. And I’ve kind of learned how the business world works, how you’re not going to like everyone that you work with, how you are not going to fall in love or be best friends when you’re working in the real world. And I’ve kind of started to realize that, because I was always stuck in a bubble of my high school knowing just certain people. And now new people are always coming in and out of your life
I’m simultaneously trying to start a music career. That’s kind of where I thought my life was headed before, so I’m starting to record some songs and see where that heads. That’s always been a goal of mine, to record an album of some sort.
I would love to play Mimi on Rent – that’s also another thing on my list of things to do before I die. Because I only started acting like four years ago, I never did theater before, I would love to try and do it. And then on top of it to play Mimi and get to sing the songs that Jonathan Larson wrote for that show, I would just be in heaven I think. That would an ideal role for me.
