Amanda Congdon: On The Animals
G2W: How long have you been a vegetarian and why?
AC: Only since last July. It wasn’t really a decision. I realized that I had stopped eating meat for two weeks. So I realized I’m just going to see what happens and I’m not going to tell anyone I’m a vegetarian in case this doesn’t last. A month later, I still hadn’t eaten any meat, so then I was like well I better come out to my family and friends as a vegetarian.
G2W: Any exceptions?
AC: There was some accidental prosciutto in some ziti I ate. That was a big accident. It was not on purpose.
G2W: Any things you crave?
AC: Not particularly, like I don’t want to eat meat, but I don’t crave it. But I do remember, I crave the memory of when I was eating like salamis and stuff. That was my big thing, I liked sausages and salamis.
G2W: Do you expect/want the guys you date to eat vegetarian too?
AC: No, I don’t. I know people that do. But I’m not that strict in my choices for other people’s decisions.
G2W: Any advice for dating a vegetarian?
AC: Choose a vegetarian restaurant for your first date just to show the girl that you respect her choices. Most restaurants I can find something on the menu, but I think if it were a first date, it would be like ‘Oh, he remembered that I was vegetarian’ might be nice.
G2W: Where do you think the animals go when they die?
AC: I think that they go to heaven with the rest of us, most of us at least. There’s not a separate cat and dog heaven, I think they go somewhere with us. We’re all together.
