Alexandra Daddario: Logan and Brandon
The best thing about them is that they all absolutely love movies. They’re all very, very passionate and they want to be filmmakers. As far as fame or any of that goes, they don’t really pay attention or think about it all that much. We’ve had many nights where we just played music, and talked about movies and they’re also really funny. It’s great when you have the opportunity to work with people that you get along with, even in the most stressful days after 15 hours of work. It’s just a fun environment and they’re so funny. It’s nice to laugh at the end of the day instead of crying about how tired you are.
One of the most fun times were the first three weeksbefore we started filming. We had sort of a boot camp to get into shape to do all the kind of the physical activity that we’d be doing on the film. That was really funny. We would be in sweat pants at nine in the morning, sword fighting with bamboo swords, and then recording it, and then watching it back, and seeing what we did wrong and how awkward we looked. There’s a lot of humor in it, especially me. I sort of looked like Napoleon Dynamite. We playfully made fun of each other and had a really good time. That was also a really good bonding time for us.
The first fight you see between Annabeth and Percy, some of that’s a little bit real actually. Logan was kind of lying to me a little bit. I was afraid to hit him. It’s always different when you’re working with the actor than working with the stunt guy. He was like, “Oh no, no, I’m fine. I’m fine. I’m fine.” There has to be a combination of obviously choreographed, and knowing how to fall and all that stuff. There’s a kick in that fight that’s moderately real.
